Our Process

Your Goals

Everyone likes to make money. The specific goals you have, and your time horizon, are the key drivers to help decide what investments make sense for you. If you don’t need certain money for 10+ years you have many options. Money that you need next year should be low-risk, which means fewer options. We believe in the “bucket” method of managing money…see the separate page on this site to read about it.

Your Risk Tolerance

Do you want to avoid any risk of loss? Are you willing to watch your account drop in value, with a longer-term goal of better returns? While in theory you may have a time horizon that allows you to take risk, that still may not be right for you. It’s important to understand your own reactions to gains and losses.

Recommendations

We will recommend different investment solutions based on your goals and risk tolerance. Ultimately you need to be comfortable with the plan. As fiduciaries, we will only make recommendations in your best interest.

Ongoing Communications

Investing is not a one-time decision. Your financial situation will change over time, requiring an adjustment to your investments. The markets will change, both for stocks and for fixed interest rates. We plan to be in contact with you throughout our relationship.
